Sustainability Basics from Eco Able

Eco-Able was founded by Dani Seatter, an author of eco-published children’s books, including Away, Oceans Away, About Hedgehog, and the Christmas title Away at Christmas. Eco-Able grew from Dani’s conversation with her sister about reducing single-use plastics and the challenges busy families face in finding sustainable products. Dani saw a need for a space that offered not only eco-friendly products but also a community for sharing tips on low-waste living.

Eco-Able’s product range reflects Dani’s dual passions: reducing waste and supporting small, independent businesses. With careful attention to sourcing, Eco-Able works closely with ethical suppliers to bring planet-friendly alternatives to customers. Originally an online-only venture, Eco-Able has since opened a physical shop in Cirencester, designed as a welcoming space for browsing, conversation, and sustainable shopping.

Dani’s commitment to sustainable business practices is backed by training, including courses with Small Business Britain and Oxford Brookes University Business School. Eco-Able’s sustainability policy is regularly updated and aims to continually enhance their eco-conscious approach.

Supporting the Community
Eco-Able contributes to local and environmental causes, such as Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust, which protects wildlife and promotes outdoor experiences for all. The business also supports The Barn Theatre as a patron, and The Brainstrust, a brain tumor charity, with proceeds from art cards made in memory of Dani’s family members. Additionally, sales of Dani’s book About Hedgehog support Grief Encounter, a charity for childhood bereavement.

Corporate Gifting
Eco-Able offers corporate gifting options, ideal for companies wanting to make a positive environmental impact. With items starting at £5, Eco-Able’s range suits any budget, allowing businesses to show appreciation to customers and employees while supporting sustainable practices.

Events and Sustainable Living
Eco-Able hosts eco events at various venues, encouraging participants to explore new skills and learn more about sustainability. The shop itself also holds seasonal eco events, with a relaxed shopping environment that welcomes everyone—children, buggies, and even pets. With books to borrow, gifts wrapped sustainably, and thoughtful amenities, Eco-Able’s Cirencester store is a community-friendly destination for sustainable living.
