BLUE TIT LONDON HEADS EAST

Blue Tit, whom readers might know from their salon on Portobello Road, are opening shop in fashionable WALTHAMSTOW, bringing its design-led, community-rooted approach to Blackhorse Road. Long on the brand’s radar since its early Clapton and Dalston days, the opening feels like a natural next step – drawn to the area’s creative energy, independent spirit and ever-evolving cultural scene. The new space reflects the neighbourhood around it: expressive, welcoming and deeply connected to the local community.

Drawing inspiration from Walthamstow’s culturally rich identity, the design embraces a boldness that mirrors the area’s artistic pulse. Leaning into the building’s raw architectural shell, Blue Tit Walthamstow is a confident, expressive space shaped by its surroundings. Monolithic blue bespo

ke salon tables sit at the heart of the design, with pigmented blues and lilac tones layered against exposed concrete, softened by felted terracotta panels and speckled cappuccino furnishings. The result is a space that feels both striking and inviting – balancing creativity with comfort.

Statement features run throughout, from sculptural tables visible from the street to industrial stainless steel mirrors that bring a modernist rhythm. Overhead, floating purple acoustic baffles add softness, while hanging terracotta panels subtly define zones without closing the space. Clients move through a seamless journey, from a relaxed 90s-inspired lounge to a more intimate backwash area – all connected by a flowing layout and wraparound windows that draw in light and maintain a sense of openness throughout.

As with every new opening, the Walthamstow salon strengthens the collective not just geographically, but culturally and professionally. Led by Nina Leuthold, formerly of Blue Tit Crouch Hill, the Walthamstow salon reflects the collective’s commitment to nurturing talent from within. Joining the team is Dec Haworth, Blue Tit’s Colour Director, who brings years of experience within the brand and a strong creative eye – adding his expertise and fashion-forward approach to the new East London space from day one.
