A few quick facts t start with. A fortnight of sleep is lost per year due to snoring and unsurprisingly, 66% of Brits find snoring rather unattractive due to which 55% would avoid any situation which requires sharing a room due to their embarrassment of snoring
Britain is running on empty. Losing the equivalent of more than a fortnight’s sleep every year, it’s not work stress, doomscrolling or a late-night Netflix binge keeping them awake, but the sound of snoring. The research from Zeus Sleeps found that adults in the UK are snoring on average at least three out of seven nights a week, which resulted in at least two hours of sleep lost each of those nights due to snoring.

Snoring is not just a nighttime nuisance, it also appears to be a shared sleep struggle. A fifth (39%) admit to it affecting how confident they feel about sleeping with their partner and a further 36% worry about situations where they may fall asleep around others due to their snoring. Severely limiting their social and life experiences and with holiday and festival season on the horizon, Brits are avoiding making memories because of the embarrassment caused from snoring.
Almost a quarter (23%) will avoid, or like to avoid, going on holiday, 18% will skip a work or business trip and 17% won’t go to a music festival. Not even feeling comfortable around their nearest and dearest, a quarter (25%) would opt to avoid staying overnight at a friends’ or family members’ home because and more than half (55%) avoid any situation which requires sharing a room due to their embarrassment of snoring. For those who do go on holiday with others, it’s still an anxiety-inducing time. 15% confess to feeling anxious about falling asleep due to their snoring and 16% will stay up later than their fellow holidaymakers to avoid falling asleep around other people.

Nigel Clarke, CEO at Zeus Sleeps commented: “Snoring is turning bedtime into bedlam as it’s quietly robbing the nation of much-needed rest. We’re not just losing hours of sleep to snoring, we’re losing mornings, energy and even those moments we plan with loved ones from the fear and embarrassment that snoring causes. An act that many of us can’t control, or even know we’re doing, we need to turn snoring from taboo to talking point and look to sleep solutions, such as Zeus Sleeps, to help Brits get back to having a good night’s sleep.”
Helping to reduce the sound of snoring across the country, Zeus is a clinically developed, non-invasive snoring device designed to support the muscles that keep your airways open during sleep. Developed in collaboration with King’s College London and Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Zeus uses gentle TENS technology to stimulate the tongue and upper airway muscles.

This stimulation helps maintain natural muscle tone through the night, allowing air to flow more freely and reducing the vibration that causes snoring. The result is a deeper, more restful sleep for you and more peaceful night for the person beside you.
