Harbour Life: Suite Yourself in Chelsea

The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa is a unique offering.  To begin with, quite adorably, it has lovely bits of retro-styling and is perched in spectacular splendour upon The Thames in the daintily exquisite area of Imperial Wharf.  It has a decadent heart as an only-suites property with elegant yachts and boats dotted all along the harbour marina and pier.  Illustrious neighbours include the Design Centre, the smashing new development that is The Powerhouse plus Lots Road Auctions.  The building has an audacious art-deco look which on a sunny day could well be mistaken for a gorgeous and nostalgic scene in 70’s or 80’s Miami!! Hotels of this size are particularly rare in Chelsea and the 154 suites and four spectacular penthouses are amply luxurious as is the glorious Spa which warrants a mention within the name.  Mediterranean cuisine lights up the senses at The Anchor Bar & Terrace, an F&B offering worthy of the spectacular views of the river.  The mood inside the hotel is relaxed and the staff are friendly and warm.  A sense of freedom abounds within the capacious property and the rooms echo to the same beat.  Welcome to the urban oasis that is The Chelsea Harbour Hotel & Spa!!

As the name suggests, the spa at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel is one of the major reasons for being a guest at the property.  It houses a 17-metre indoor heated pool which is a treat in London and the signature holistic treatments make this a proper spa experience including sauna and steam room.  On offer is a selection of Caudalie treatments available including facials, massages, body treatments and deluxe pamper days.  There is also a gym which completes the health experience and elevates the fitness experience.

However, the spa is far from being the only pulling perk here.  The Anchor Bar & Terrace is a picturesque and highly-Instragrammable restaurant that serves classic afternoon tea and riveting cocktails that will keep you singing sea shanties in your head for nights on end.  It is a perfect date-night option as well with a choice of Mediterranean and bar classics on offer along with an extensive seafood menu whilst boasting panoramic view of several London landmarks

Most of the suites either have marina or river views and boast chunky wooden panels, fittings and furniture in going with the retro feel.   CO Bigelow toiletries perfume the bathrooms which are particularly huge in the penthouse suites which include Abingdon and Kensington and the mega-sized King’s at 175 square metres.  The Saville is another choice if you’re looking at a penthouse accommodation.

To reiterate, this is a unique hotel.  It feels like an exotic hotel by a quiet beach or river yet it boasts some of the most panoramic views of London and is ideally situated in Chelsea.  The beautiful Anchor Bar and Grill and generous spa with a gorgeous swimming pool further accentuate the un-Londonlike space and then there’s the suites-and-penthouses-only extravagance coupled with that retro-luxurious look that sets it apart.  The Chelsea Harbour Hotel and Spa is a must visit for all KCR Luxophiles!
