For those looking for a moment of calm and tranquility, or simply seeking some much-needed ‘me time’, The Royal Horseguards Hotel, one of London’s hidden gems, launched a collection of wellness sessions this April.
Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the city, the historic building overlooks the River Thames at the Embankment and has some magnificent views of the serene gardens and iconic London attractions. Londoners could take their pick from classes including yoga and sound baths, tuning into their mind, body and soul, all whilst soaking in the Victorian grandeur and elegance of the hotel.
Adorned with timeless period features and stunning décor, each room at The Royal Horseguards has a unique story to tell. Encompassing two iconic buildings: The National Liberal Club which has played host to historical icons including Churchill, Gladstone and Lloyd-George; and the club’s magnificent apartments which were previously the home of the first chief of Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service, the hotel does not fall short on history.
The yoga sessions were hosted by FLY LDN and the sound bath sessions were hosted by GONG. The gong bath is an immersive sound experience where participants could relax and switch off whilst having sound waves ‘wash’ over them, enjoying a melodic journey helping to revitalise the body.
Sessions are also followed by invigorating refreshments including fruit infused water and smoothies to replenish the body and have participants pumped for the day ahead.
