PIRAÑA, the exhilarating entertainment-led Nikkei dining restaurant in the iconic St James in Mayfair is launching an experiential night to remember, centred around the mighty, Bluefin Tuna. Taking place every two Mondays until the end of the year (the next one is 10th November), the evening starts at 7pm with a 130kg tuna prepared and displayed ceremoniously to all, as guests are encouraged to gather around the chef’s table and take in the spectacle. This is then followed by a narrated Q&A with PIRAÑA’s Executive Chef before the tuna is expertly carved by the trained chefs of PIRAÑA right in front of their eyes.
Guests are treated to a once-in-a-lifetime experience that blends intrigue and masterful skill. They first sample the freshest tuna they’ve ever tasted, before taking their seats as the evening continues with a bespoke Tuna Tasting Menu, crafted exclusively for the occasion and showcasing the tuna in an array of exquisite dishes such as:
- Tuna Rib – with nori seaweed, nikiri soy and wasabi
- Spicy Tuna Maki Roll – with aji panca, avocado and cucumber
- Tuna Akami Ceviche – with sudachi ponzu leche de tigre
- King Crab Crunchy Rice – with yuzu, jalapeno, brown crab aioli
- Rock Shrimp Tempura – with spicy mayo, lime, crunchy corn
- Tuna Tartare – with honey, soy, avocado and Baerii caviar
- Seared Otoro Nigiri – with Oscietra caviar
- Chutoro Sashimi – with fresh wasabi, nikiri soy
- Robata grilled Otoro skewer – with teriyaki sauce
- Seared Tuna Steak – with a sweet and sour glaze
- Crunchy Tuna Cone – with wasabi tobiko, avocado and truffle ponzu
