Smiths – One Stop Summer

Little Venice, as the simile in the name suggests, is a gloriously beautiful part of London.  The Grand Union Canal winds its way along the northern corner of West London and dotted along its path are all manner of beautiful spots and worthy eateries.  An absolute favourite of ours, nestled in the heart of Paddington Basin, is Smith’s Bar and Grill.  A mere minute or so away from Paddington station, this modern restaurant/bar is the go-to option for all ilk of Spring and Summer persuasions.  Be it a quintessential Sunday Roast that strikes your fancy or if you’re looking to watch Euro 2024 on the big screen within a grandly joyous atmosphere or if you’re after some sustainable modern British cuisine that tastes amazing or a beautiful outdoor terrace to enjoy the sunshine along with refreshing cocktails and spritely bubbles – it’s all waiting to be explored and experienced at Smith’s.  The capacious dining hall, the beautiful bar area and exquisite lounge coupled with the terrace outside combine magnificently as a one-stop antidote to all your summer-hangout needs.

Food is of particular brilliance at Smith’s and the focus on sustainability is the cherry on top. Since the start of April, they have been proudly pushing their new Spring menu.  Every dish is a star on the menu but particular favourites include the bursting-with-freshness Maldon Rock Oysters served with Mignonette sauce and lemon, Scallops pan-fried with Jerusalem artichoke puree bacon and veal jus and the refreshing trio of salmon, tuna and seabass tartare served with ponzu dressing and chives.  Mains feature top-notch all-time favourites including the Smith’s Burger, Seafood Risotto, Thai Salad and choice of Sirloin, Fillet and Ribeye Steaks.

Specials at the moment include a Bottomless Deal on Fridays and Saturdays which is essentially ninety minutes of glorious food and unlimited drinks for £35pp including dished such as Calamari, Parmigiana and Greek Salad.  Add an extra £15 and  you can have unlimited red, white or sparkling wine and a cocktail of the week. Additionally, as aforementioned, there is the Euro 2024 party that you wouldn’t want to miss in one of the most beautiful parts of London and in a memorable venue such as Smith’s.  In the more than likely case that England or your preferred nation fails to win the tournament, this is one way to make sure you enjoy the event regardless and come out a winner.
