Qima Café – Tree to Cup Coffee to the Heart of London

Qima Café is not your average coffee shop. Founded by British Yemeni entrepreneur Faris Sheibani, the café opened its doors in Fitzrovia in 2022 and Covent Garden in 2025 with a bold vision: to serve coffee that is not only rare and delicious but deeply meaningful. This is coffee reimagined, from tree to cup, and everything in between. At its heart, it is built on Faris’s mission to reconnect coffee drinkers with the people and places behind their cup. Every bean is sourced directly through Qima, an award winning ethical trading company he founded in 2016. Inspired by his grandfather’s coffee business in Yemen and a family ethos of social responsibility, Faris set out to build a more transparent and equitable future for coffee. By managing the full journey from farm to café, Qima eliminates unnecessary intermediaries, ensuring more value goes back to the people who grow it.

Its ‘Coffee Tree Per Cup’ initiative means that  for every cup sold, a high-performing coffee seedling is donated to a farmer, tailored to their land and climate, and supported with hands-on training. It is a small action that creates lasting change at the origin. On the menu? Some of the rarest and most distinctive coffees in the world, from rediscovered Yemenia beans grown on ancient terraced hillsides to exotic Sidras and Wush Wush from the Andes. All coffee beans are roasted in-house to bring out their full character. Signature drinks like the Qishr Latte and Cascara Fizz celebrate the full coffee fruit, transforming often discarded elements into flavour forward, waste free creations.

At Qima Café, it’s not just about the coffee. The café’s seasonal food and patisserie offering is a standout in its own right—thoughtfully crafted to complement its exceptional coffee selection. Inspired by Qima’s sourcing regions, the menu features everything from za’atar-spiced viennoiserie and vibrant brunch plates to citrus-bright tarts and refined desserts, each designed to enhance specific coffee profiles. Launching this August, Qima Café will introduce a new brunch menu across both locations, showcasing a range of decadent dishes such as Whipped Feta Eggs, Croissant Loaf French Toast, and the classic Qima English Breakfast. Whether paired with a floral Geisha and lemon tart or a jammy Yemeni natural alongside a Banana Toffee Crackle, the food experience at Qima Café is curated to elevate every cup.

With over 10 percent of profits pledged to the Qima Foundation, which funds long term projects in coffee growing communities, Qima Café proves that quality and impact can and should go hand in hand. Add to that collaborations with world-renowned chefs like Jesús Escalera and Asako Iwayanagi, and it is clear: Qima Café is not just serving coffee. It is creating an entirely new standard for what a café can be.
